Dress well, do better

Hoodies and jeans are fine for idiosyncratic and exceedingly rich Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, but regular working people do better when they’re dressed for success. Wearing formal clothes — suits, tailored jackets, heels — makes a measurable difference in your self-confidence, in how favorably others regard you, and even in your performance. The Wall Street Journal reports new research shows that the well-dressed score better at abstract thinking than those less nicely attired. Test subjects in formal clothes were “quicker to see the big picture. … The casual dressers tended to sweat the small stuff.”
