“Hold on to your fruit baskets and magnetic calendars, home sellers are looking for something a little more intangible,” writes Canadian Homes & Land Publisher Alexandre Beaudoin on LinkedIn.
With a nod to NAR’s “2015 Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends Report,” Alexandre explores the 5 factors found to be most important to home sellers in assessing an agent:
So clients want you to keep doing what you’re doing — talking to them, working hard, offering guidance to smooth out the sales process, acting like the pro you are. Plus they want . . . what was it? Advertising! Like what you do with Homes & Land. We show off your sellers’ homes in high quality magazines that are delivered right to their door, then shout out their listings on homesandland.com and more than 20 other high-traffic websites, for starters. So keep doing what you’re doing. You’re good.
Then again, fruit baskets are nice
If you do like to mark a successful sale with a gift for your sellers, Inman News writer Marian McPherson passes on some suggestions — ranging from budget to expensive — from the creative folks of Lab Coat Agents. On the high side, commission a small original sketch or painting of the just-sold home. (Talk about memorable!) Less costly but still personal, use your best listing photos of the house to create a commemorative hard-cover book through a photo-service website. At the low end, there’s a classic: Just bring a fun bubbly to the closing.
