Home sellers often need improvements to make their house desirable enough to sell. Remodeling Magazine recently listed the four remodeling projects with the best return on investment.
- Steel-entry door replacement cost an average of $1,218—but you get back 102.1% of the cost when selling.
- Garage door replacement costs $1,291 and returns 84% at sale.
- The addition of a wood-deck costs, on average, $10,973 and returns 73% at sale.
- Minor kitchen remodeling costs $21,695 and returns 73% at sale.
The numbers are national averages but should give you a general idea what to expect in terms of return on investment.
