Home Remodeling Projects with A High Return

by Rob Wicker

Home sellers often need improvements to make their house desirable enough to sell.  Remodeling Magazine recently listed the four remodeling projects with the best return on investment.

  1. Steel-entry door replacement cost an average of $1,218—but you get back 102.1% of the   cost when selling.
  2. Garage door replacement costs $1,291 and returns 84% at sale.
  3. The addition of a wood-deck costs, on average, $10,973 and returns 73% at sale.
  4. Minor kitchen remodeling costs $21,695 and returns 73% at sale.

The numbers are national averages but should give you a general idea what to expect in terms of return on investment.
