Is Print Advertising Dead?

USA Today’s small business expert Steve Strauss recently answered this in his “Ask an Expert” column. Strauss commented that while “print media has changed radically…the reports of print’s death have been greatly exaggerated.”

Strauss further commented on the opportunity print advertising presents. Since fewer businesses use print as a primary marketing media, the “ability to stand out has increased…your ads can be stars.”

And, he points out:
“Print advertising continues to offer some great benefits not shared by its online counterparts:

  • Highly targeted – catch people by interest
  • Doesn’t evaporate – magazines stay in homes for months
  • Great for branding – physical ads can be displayed for years”
