Yesterday was Earth Day, a good day to contemplate how much we appreciate our trees. Homes & Land is part of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), an organization dedicated to improving the environment.
SFI protects forests, wildlife habitats, soil, water and air quality across 135 million acres. Which means that if all of the SFI forest lands were consolidated, it would be the size of North America’s Great Basin – the land between the Rockies and Sierra Nevada Mountains – covering parts of Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and California.
SFI plants over 650 million trees in their forest lands every year and has invested $885 million in sustainable forestry research since its launch in 1995.
Homes & Land magazines are proudly printed on SFI certified paper.
