In times of stress people are looking for expert advice. That’s why consumers want real estate expertise now more than ever. Business organizations, investment clubs, and social groups of all kinds are always open to guest speakers, which could provide you the opportunity to reach out, speak out and position yourself as a local expert.

  • Create a presentation using your experience and back that up with statistics from the Board of Realtors.
  • Use information from realtor.org to give consumers an accurate picture of trends at the national level.

  • Be prepared for questions about interest rates and the Homebuyer Tax Credit.

  • Most importantly, make sure that you give consumers the information that will help them take action: buying, selling or investing in real estate.

The key is to take the time to create a first class presentation that you know inside and out. One presentation will lead to another, and you will position yourself as the local real estate expert.

I’d like to also add, be real, honest and focused on the needs of the client. Admit when you don’t know an answer and then find it. The golden rule works just as well in business as it did on the playground as kids.
